Thinking of Adoption?
One of my favourite questions, I love to help and support people on their journey’s and I know how overwhelming this question can be when popping this into Google.
I thought I would do a quick search talking about this very point. I popped into Google ‘thinking about adoption’ the pages and pages of answers is in the many multiples, I tried it myself and this was the total – About 163,000,000 results!
How on earth would you be able to explore all of these results, or actually find the answer to your question? I believe it will create even more questions for you?
So let me help you out a little with some quick tips; firstly the internet has so many answers for you, that’s the wonderful power of google, however some results will be world wide hence the results exceeding 163,000,000.
If this is your first ever search, the overwhelm may make you turn it off and think about it later, cry with the overwhelm or make you feel like it is unreachable.
So first things first, take a minute to breathe in and out, I can really help you with this. Lets explore some tips that could help you in your search for knowledge on wanting to adopt a child.
Let’s think of some things to add to your ‘thinking about adopting’ question.
So adding the word ‘a child’ can help exclude the pet adoptions services; ‘thinking of adopting a child’ About 49,600,000 results a reduction of 113,400,000 results.
Now adding the county narrows the search further and allows you to find closer to home options available to you ‘adopting a child in Cambridgeshire’ About 158,000 results a reduction of 162,842,000 results
Can you see the differences? I still believe 158K can be overwhelming so you could try the town/city name and this will make the results even smaller
Adding the town ‘Cambourne’ to my search ‘thinking about adopting a child in Cambourne, Cambridgeshire’ About 87,000 results a reduction of a whooping 162,913,000 results!
And at the top of that search was the local authority for that area: Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Adoption
I accept the number is still high, but guess what? that first page has all of the very local agencies involving adopting a child in Cambourne, Cambridgeshire and the following pages are all the other potential companies in the wider area such as UK charities and agencies involved with adopting a child near your search request.
So in essence to reduce some of the overwhelm get really specific with your question into google, write down exactly what you want to know and then this narrows the answers you are provided with, equally narrowing the search allows you to see what is actually available in your local area.
You will feel more successful in your search, find more local answers quickly and begin to make sense of your very first question and find availability of information local to where you live, people who know the local area.
